PLAY ACCORDING TO USGA RULES: Please become familiar with the Rules of Golf. It is our goal that everyone plays by the same USGA rules. These rules are available at www.rulesofgolf.com, with the Rules of Golf Mobile App for iOS and Android.
SUMMER RULES ARE PLAYED ALL YEAR. PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES!
EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULES!
CART PATHS: If your ball lies on a cart path or interferes with your stance, you may take free relief. Determine the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole within one club length. Drop the ball from knee height. As a local rule, the club treats the hard pan around a cart path as ground under repair; therefore, you can take relief no closer to the hole within one club length.
MAN-MADE OBSTRUCTIONS: Balls may be dropped one club length from all staked trees, buildings, light poles, sprinkler heads, interior fences, (protective fences on #’s 4, 5, 12, 13) if they interfere with your swing or stance. If your ball goes through the protective fence, you may take relief away from the fence so that you do not have to go over it. However, if your ball is behind a light pole, a Frisbee pole, or a sprinkler head and it does not interfere with your swing or stance, you must play it as it lies.
UNPLAYABLE BALL AND RELIEF FROM PERIMETER, OUTER BOUNDARY FENCES: Taking a one-stroke penalty, choose from these options:
- Lateral relief—drop the ball within two club lengths of the original ball, no closer to the hole.
- Go back on the line formed by the hole and where the unplayable ball lies and drop.
- Players may take stroke and distance relief. This means go back to where you hit your last stroke and hit again from there.
FOR LOST BALLS AND OUT OF BOUNDS: Hit the ball from the original shot. If it was from the tee, you may tee it up again. Count each time you hit and add one penalty shot.
LOCAL RULE FOR LOST BALL OR OUT OF BOUNDS ALTERNATIVE IN THE INTEREST OF FASTER PLAY. If you haven’t played a provisional ball, you can take a two-stroke penalty, walk to the edge of the fairway, no closer to the hole, drop a ball and play from there. In other words, if your tee ball goes into the trees and you can’t find it, you don’t have to walk back to the tee and reload. Drop a ball in the fairway near where you think your shot was lost and hit your third from there. This rule is not applicable to Ace of the Month, Club Championship, or President’s Cup games.
REMEMBER THE 3 MINUTE TIME LIMIT TO FIND YOUR BALL
RED (LATERAL) PENALTY AREA – LEFT SIDE OF HOLE #7 : If your ball is in (or virtually certain to be in) the red penalty area, you may take a one-stroke penalty, and choose one of the following options:
- Stroke and Distance: Drop a ball as close as possible to the spot where you made your last shot. (If off the tee, you may re-tee anywhere in the teeing area.)
- Back-on-the-Line Relief: Keep the point where your ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area directly between you and the hole and drop a ball anywhere on that line going as far back as you like.
- Lateral Relief: Drop a ball within two club lengths of the point where your ball last crossed into the penalty area, no nearer to the hole.
Note: You do not need to find your physical ball as long as it is known or virtually certain (at least 95% sure) that it came to rest inside the penalty area.
PENALTY AREA IN FRONT OF THE LAKE ON #18: If your tee shot goes into the water, tee up again, take one penalty shot. That will be stroke 3.
BALL STRUCK BY ANOTHER PLAYER’S BALL WHILE BOTH ARE ON THE GREEN: If the person putting hits one of the foursome’s balls while on the green, the putter earns a two-stroke penalty. The struck ball should be placed back to where it had been before it was hit.

GUIDE TO KEEP PLAY MOVING
- Play ready golf.
- Be prepared to hit your next shot: plan it and move as close to your ball without interfering with your playing partners.
- Please stay within a shot from the group ahead. If your group falls behind have two players putt out and move on to the next tee while the others finish putting.
- Record your scores on the following tee.
- When your game is finished, please come directly to the clubhouse to add scores and figure sweeps.
