QUE PASA
An occasional missive to the members of the Mission Bay Women’s Golf Club
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS: May birthdays: Laura Short and Gretchen Vedder. May your drives be long and straight, and you score no worse than par!
RULES: Clarification re the hard pan that is attached, for the lack of a better word, to the cart path. You get relief if your ball lands on that hard packed dirt that leads to the paved cart path. One club length from the nearest relief—no closer to the hole.
< When playing with a new member, please review some of our rules. Impress the need to play ready golf, on the green all balls must hole out. Please be gentle with your suggestions should you see a player about to make a mistake. Especially review which fences are “boundary” and which are “protective.” You are allowed relief from both, but boundary incurs a penalty; protective does not.
The rules are listed in the membership booklet, which new players may not yet have in possession.
CLUB SHIRTS: An anonymous benefactor or two will provide shirts to the club’s membership. Their generosity will allow all who wish to get a lovely blue Club shirt. Please submit your shirt size so Gretchen can pass along the information to our benefactor/s. Thank you, thank you for your incredible generosity.
ELECTIONS ARE COMING: Voting will take place the first Wednesday of June—June 3! The following offices need filling:
Treasurer
Tournament
Vice President
Please consider joining the Board. Thank you to those who have said “yes” when asked to serve.
CLUB CHAPMIONSHIP: The event we’ve all been waiting for. The Club Championship will cover the following three Wednesdays in May: May 13, 20, and 27. Overall Low Gross for the three days. Sharpen your skills!
ACE OF ACES/PUTTING QUEEN: June 17 is a combo tournament. Ace of Aces and Putting Queen. Those who have qualified during the year will engage in a playoff. Always a fun tourney!
JUNE SCRAMBLE and LUNCHEON: June 24, from 12-2p.m. The Scramble will take place with the luncheon to follow. More information re the luncheon is forthcoming.
In addition to the scramble. Those who will serve on the Board will be installed. As this is our second general meeting of the year, any issues members have can be addressed. In advance of the meeting, please let a board member know of the issue, so it can be addressed. Also on the agenda, the following awards will be given:
Ace of Aces Tournament Results
Putting Queen Sweeps Ringer
NEW ACCESS FOR QUE PASA: Jan Ainsworth has been working tirelessly to get our website up and running. Last month, Que Pasa was published on the website. This month Que Pasa will be published on the website as well. It may take a few attempts to get everything just right. Once the new restaurant is open, perhaps a copy will be posted there as well. Your editor is looking for options to get the message about the club to interested parties. Attempts to place copies in the Pro Shop and Ladies’ room have met with mixed results.
Happy Golfing!

Great job! I love seeing this online!
